Microsoft Exchange DNS Records

This article outlines the DNS records for your Hosted Exchange subscription.

  • These are required if you manage your own DNS. If you do not know what this is, it is likely you are using our Name Servers therefore will not need to make any manual changes.

Hosted Exchange

Your MX record needs to point to:
ex1-in.mail-filtering.com.au.

An autodiscover CNAME record also needs to be created:
autodiscover.example.com.au CNAME autodiscover-redirect.openconnect.com.au.

Alternatively you can point your name servers towards our DNS servers and your records will automatically be configured:
ns1.nameservers.com.au
ns2.nameservers.com.au
ns3.nameservers.com.au

Clients requiring SPF records should add the following records to their DNS zone

Clients who ONLY use Exchange as a mail service should add the following record
example.com.au   TXT   v=spf1 include:mail-filtering.com.au -all

Clients who use Exchange as well as other providers should add the following record
example.com.au   TXT   v=spf1 include:mail-filtering.com.au ~all
